PRESS RELEASE, Hellenic Federation Wushu Kung Fu
The presence of the national team in the 2nd World Traditional Wushu Championship, held in the city Zhengzhou, in China, was a great success. The Greek team returned having won 9 medals and discriminations.
In particular, it won the 1st place in:
Unarmed forms, shadowboxing (taolou), Stavros Stofylas (group C)
Armed forms, shadowboxing, Dimitris Doukas (group C), Christos Papachristos (group C), Stavros Stofylas (group C)
It won the 2nd place in:
Unarmed forms, shadowboxing Christos Papachristos (group C) and Theodoros Lampadas (group C)
It won the 3rd place in:
Armed forms, shadowboxing, Kourlis Andreas (group B), Theodoros Lampadas (group C), Vaya Bitsikokou ( group B).
It also won:
Unarmed forms: Ch. Karagiannis (group D) 4th place in Taiji, Maria Courbei (group B) 5th place, Ceorge Divanis (group C) 6th place, Ev. Tampouratzis (group C) 8th place
Armed forms:
Dimitris Doukas (group C) 4th place, Theodoros Lampadas (group C) 5th place, Ceorge Divanis (group C) 7th place, Maria Courbei (group B) 8th place.
In pre-planned battle, the Greek team, which consisted by Dimitris Doukas and Christos Papachristos, won the silver medal.
The president of the Hellenic Wushu Kung Fu Federation, Mr. Kyriacos Eleftheriou, Mr Tang Tung Wing and the former President of the Federation, Dimitris Athanasiou travelled to China for the 2nd World Traditional Wushu Championship.
